in your closet, in your head.
It all happens in a matter of moments. Your friends, your companions, and even some people you aren't all that fond of; everyone who took so much as a bite of the spirits' feast suddenly collapses into a comatose heap. Which is bad enough already, but the worst, by far, is yet to come.
Before anyone can really figure out what's happened to the sleepers, the woods surrounding the town come alive with sound. Rustling, screeching, clicking, howling, and under it all, the characteristic hoots and whistles of the forest spirit tongue. But these aren't the friendly creatures that set up the banquet in the first place, and they aren't the familiar faces (or masks) from around Beacon. As they begin to emerge, bursting forth from the trees, these spirits reveal themselves as a horrifying army of terrors. And sprinkled among them, distinguishable by the emerald glint in their sockets, are the infamous "green eyes", the dangerous spirits that appeared once before.
Attempting to talk to these spirits is a moot point, made obvious by their immediate assault on anyone they get close to. They attack with claws and teeth, with limbs far stronger than they have any right to be, and the green eyes, as they are wont to do, will try to get into your head. Somehow, they seem to know what it is that scares you most, and they don't seem too hesitant to use it. It's not clear what they want— are they here to eradicate you? To frighten you? To send a message?
Whatever the case, one thing is very clear: you and everyone else, sleeping or waking, are in serious danger. Are you ready to defend Beacon?

He looks down at the man's heel on his knee, then at the injury itself. It looks worse up close than it did from the doorway. He extends his hand over it and takes a breath.
When the hell did he become the healer of this group? Well, he never was much of a fighter.

"We haven't lost them yet," he says as he watches. "Unless we're able to determine for sure that they're never waking up, we can't just abandon them. Besides, going into the woods is suicide. They know it better than we do. Any group that tries to will just get picked off one by one."
no subject
"We have to get away from the onslaught, though, Staying put is just as much suicide, only here we know we're trapped. There we might have a way out. We might have a chance."
He turns back to the injury. He focuses, imagining the wound closing, the skin and muscle knitting back together. His power is far from the divine power of Aziraphale, but it does the trick all the same, healing layers----not completely, but closing the wound, making it manageable.

"What are you proposing, then, that we move everyone with us out through the woods? I'm not leaving them here alone," he says firmly. He can carry Mary, sure. He's been doing so this whole time, making sure nothing can get to her. But she's sort of an exception when it comes to the logistics of transporting those who are asleep.

Crowley has other plans instead, of course. Not that Xayah or the human soldier person are behind him. But this person?
"Course. We could always go to the source of the problem and stop it. Wouldn't need to take everyone with us, then."
no subject
If he had to take a guess, of course, he'd imagine that the implied source is the lighthouse. As much as Robin frustrates him, the idea that this particular occurrence is her fault, that going to her would stop this, seems utterly ridiculous. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be done, however. Might learn something useful, should such a trip succeed despite the massive risk it carries.
no subject
"Find out what's happening at the Lighthouse, we might be able to recall all these spirits."
no subject
"How fast can you fly?" he asks after a moment. Even if Crowley doesn't succeed in understanding what's happening, they could organize a distraction. Pull some of the spirits away from the town to chase him, then those in town can try to clean up the ones who stay.

He hadn't flown much back on Earth. Never needed to, of course. He had the Bentley, he had planes. Flying would've just attracted attention. But since coming here, he's stretched his wings out more times than he had in centuries. He's still got it, at least.

"But the lighthouse should be visible at any distance, since we can see it from town. So you could probably get there, and might even get back if the bonfire is also visible. It would only be a matter of evading flying spirits in that darkness. They'll be able to come at you from any side without you knowing, until they're on top of you."
no subject
"What's the worst that could happen?" Besides dying, waking up in a church, and then dying all over again because he can't live in a holy place?
no subject
And this is why even though he'd love to know what's going on in that lighthouse, he can't really get behind Crowley going right now. Especially given he's capable of healing, and getting the rest of them all back into the action. But Crowley isn't going to be motivated by the greater good, he's quickly learned that already. So when he says "everyone" and tips his head toward those asleep nearby, he's sure to direct the gesture in the general direction of Aziraphale. Put them all at risk and Crowley puts the angel at risk, doesn't he?
