Running To Beat The Morning - Closed To Dawn

( She slips out early, or at least, she thinks it's early, careful not to wake the boys sleeping within the boathouse. Kairi heads down to the waterline to meet up with Dawn, who has undoubtedly already been waiting for her for a good while. It's become a daily routine for the two of them, meeting up in the morning to go running along the shoreline of the beach. It's something that has brought her a bit of comfort, something to look forward to. Dawn's presence is a breath of fresh air, whether they are having a conversation about whatever happens to be on their mind or simply sitting in comfortable silence. There's a warmth there between them, different from what she has with Riku, yet special in it's own right.

Kairi has adopted a unique wardrobe for their morning runs. She's taken to wearing various pairs of drawstring shorts she's found at the general store, as well as various vintage t-shirts, cut off at her midriff to compensate for the fact that they are usually way too big for her small frame. Those are typically the easiest to find, given the lack of available sizing. She doesn't mind too much. They're comfortable to move in, at least, making them ideal for training. Her dress is fine, but she often finds that she can't move how she'd like to while wearing it. The last thing she wants to do is hold Dawn back by not being able to function at her best.

The two of them take off along the shoreline, as per usual, starting off at a fairly relaxed pace that will undoubtedly get faster later on. Either way, it does well enough to get her blood flowing and wake her up fully. She glances over where Dawn runs beside her at a comfortable pace, and can't help but smile gently. )

...Hey, thanks for coming with me every day. It wouldn't be the same without you.
