content: A mingle log for rebuilding the docks and/or generally if you'd like to have your character help with a mini-project. Feel free to throw up your own TLs! I am also still on slowatus until the 6th but wanted to put this up with ample time before Sandman!
warnings: N/A. If you would like to handwave your involvement, please just lmk and I'll add you to a list or something so everyone can just assume your character was around

The wood, cut and planked, sits in a pile on the beach, covered in whatever tarp-like object can be found to keep it from getting wet. On the bright side, the ferry comes in when they finish gathering supplies for the dock - so they don't have to gather more, and they don't have to rebuild a ferry. Still, large trunks are prepared for weather and hammered into the water, and don't get much of a chance to stand alone before a small group of people descend on them to cobble together a little dock. Not as grand nor as finely-made as the previous one, it will be nonetheless sturdy and usable, with hopefully no further changes for the last two years it may need to exist.

Oh, I see. Well, we are all dead here, so I don't see much of a change in scenery for you.

[ He smiles. It's a funny joke! Clearly. ]

But really, you shouldn't get hurt on behalf of this little project. I think I've already done enough damage.

[ He looks on regretfully. ]

Usually it's the other way around, you know, but here you are giving me permission to take a break.

[ At least Ambrose isn't giving him shit about the ferry. ]

( he's over the ferry. besides, he's pretty sure he probably would have done the same thing if someone let him drive. )

As long as my thumbs are intact, I think I'll be okay but I'll gladly take a little break.

( don't have to twist his arm or anything. )

I do like an excuse to be lazy.

Ah, you and Crowley would get along famously, I think.

[ Aziraphale goes to get a tartan thermos and unscrews the cap. ]

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

( the getting along with crowley thing, not the tea thing. the tea thing was absolutely an offer he was going to take. he nods his gratitude for the cup. )

Despite his reputation, he is my oldest and dearest friend. It is quite a good thing, I'd think. Don't tell him that.

[ He also takes out a small tin from his pocket and hands Ambrose some shortbread. ]

Well then, I'll take it.

( ambrose glances around at the group of people that are all helping to put the ferry back together. )

Is your friend here today? Volunteering his services to fix what's broken?

( isn't that what friends do? )

Yes, he's over there, with the red hair and sunglasses--

[ He gestures over to Crowley who appears to be totally slacking off somewhere in the background. ]

...Probably just taking a short break.

Yes, he certainly does look like he's enjoying his break.

( and ambrose can't really blame him. )

Was he on the ferry when it went kaboom?

Oh, yes.

[ Casually doesn't mention it was his idea in the first place. ]

His leg is still a little broken, I think. It'll be fully healed soon, I hope. I had some... bad hallucinations and he dove into the water to catch my lantern. I think that delayed the healing process.

[ Please accept this tidbit of information that Crowley isn't a hundred percent a total shit. ]

Well, that was very heroic of him.

( honestly, ambrose might have swooned if someone, man or woman, had done that for him. )

He might deserve a little slacking off for that.

[ Oh, plenty of swooning had occurred, Ambrose, fear not. ]

Yes, I suppose so. Unfortunately, my healing isn't how it used to be. Otherwise you'd both be good as new!

If things were perfect, I could have healed myself but alas.

( beacon giveth and beacon taketh away. )

Don't worry, my thumbs will heal with time. I didn't completely take them off with the hammer to the point that someone needed to sew them back on. I'm good. I promise you, my thumbs are okay.

You worry a lot, don't you?

I promise, I am in no danger of losing my limbs. I've been alive for nearly a century and it hasn't happened.e

Oh, I do but that's not really why I look so young and vibrant. One benefit of being a warlock is we don't age as quickly as normal humans do.

( but he appreciate the compliment nonetheless. )

So, give me a century and maybe I'll get a grey hair.

Oh, but you'd look good with grey hair, I think.

Some of us have just always been a bit white.

[ He looks upwards towards his cloudy mounds of curls. ]

Absolutely not! No other colors would work with my clothes. And my skintone!

[ You try to come near him with manic and there will only be panic. ]

How do you know if you haven't tried?

Well, I've bought many brightly-colored clothes. I think they looked quite awful on me!

[ He frowns and then after a long pause, makes a gesture. His hair turns a bright burnished copper. ]
