TRICK OR TREATING (open)
[ On October 31st, Aziraphale shows up to Eleven's room having put on a pair of black cat ears and having drawn black whiskers on his cheeks. He'd knocked on most people's doors to do a reverse trick-or-treating first, asking people to either have candy ready or passing them little treats just to have something to give out later. After all, it's about the experience.
With a bucket he'd painted to have a witchy face, he leads Eleven around. ]
Are you having a good time?
[ He asks, as he gestures for her to go knock on the next door. ]
ANNIVERSARY DATE (closed to Crowley)
[ On October 28th, 4004 BC, a snake crawled up to Aziraphale on the wall where he was standing, and the two of them became the best of friends. On October 28th, 2019-- or, what passed for 2019-- Aziraphale was sitting inside the Invincible, at a table off in the corner with Crowley, and celebrating a six thousand and twenty third anniversary.
He pours the two of them wine that Crowley's made, and then he makes sure it tastes a lot better than a bland Chardonnay. ]

Anniversary Date
He had a little brown paper bag that he kept under his chair. Definitely not a present.
"Suppose this'll work well enough," he adds, taking a sip of his wine. Oh, that's much better than a bland Chardonnay.
no subject
Not even a miracle could save Aziraphale's cooking.
"What is that, by the way?" he asks, gesturing towards the bag. "I never asked."
no subject
"So this is our first anniversary post-mortem," he says. "Which is something to be said for us, I think."
no subject
He looks over a menu and decides that there's not actually anything he wants to eat, but he politely picks something.
"Are you eating?" he asks Crowley. Usually he'd order something and pass it to Aziraphale, but since he'd started needing sustenance, it was more likely he'd require his own food. Teaching Crowley about the wonders of food has been a bit of an endeavor, truth be told.
no subject
"Why don't you pick?" he says. "You always know what to order."
Takes the weight off of Crowley, and makes it easier to complain if it's rubbish.
no subject
If all else fails, they have the wine. And it couldn't possibly be worse than Aziraphale's cooking!
no subject
"I wonder if we can trust them enough to cook for us," he says, eyeing the waiter over his shoulder. "I've heard too many stories about the spirits."
no subject
"What sort of stories have you heard?"
no subject
He glances back over his shoulder. "I heard that they had attacked the town a few months back. A lot of people died, or nearly died in the attack."
He tries to remember exactly what Xayah had told him. She survived it, and it didn't seem pleasant at all.
no subject
He frowns at them.
"But they've calmed since then."
no subject
Not that Crowley really should be bringing up the Lighthouse Keeper at their dinner. But he can't help it. That Lighthouse is a constant in this place, and he's constantly thinking about what that person has planned for them.
no subject
He reaches over for Crowley's hand and squeezes it. "Try me tomorrow."
no subject
Aziraphale takes his hand and Crowley lets out a sigh. It can wait.
"I introduced the human soldier person to Queen," he says.

Trick or Treating
Aziraphale has been among the friends to cheer her up, though. With the gift of dozens of glittery, colourful gel pens to practice her handwriting with, he's definitely inspired a smile or two.
And the fact that he's taking her trick of treating, of course. Eleven is wearing the birdshaped cone and has unearthed a hideous thing from the general store that must have been intended to be a fringed poncho. It's hopelessly oversized on her, but if she flaps her arms she almost looks like she might be wearing a bird costume.
Almost.
If you squint.
With both eyes closed.
Or if you really don't want to make the 14 year old girl excited to go trick or treating sad. Either/or.
At any rate: They've visited a few friends, and Eleven's smile is an easy one. ]
Yes. Candy! Don't worry. I'll share.
Re: Trick or Treating
[ Aziraphale meanwhile, takes a downy white feather of his own and sticks it behind her ear. Her costume is-- lacking in authenticity, no way would any wings be shaped like that and fly, but it is in the spirit of halloween.
And they didn't have too many options. ]
What do you think the next house will have? Candied apples?
Caramel corn?
no subject
Do you think... they have Eggos?
no subject
Do you mean eggs?
I'm sure they must have eggs, but they'll get crushed underneath the rest of the candy, dear.
But I've got eggs, if you'd like!
[ Sorry Eleven, you won't catch him buying frozen waffles... ]
no subject
Maybe. ]
Not eggs. Eggos. Waffles.
[ She makes a gesture, as if that explains everything. ]
From the... freezer.
no subject
[ He looks at her as if she's grown 2 heads.
He hadn't even touched his freezer at the house, and hadn't owned one for a good six thousand years. ]
My dear girl, I don't think that's where waffles come from!
Irons, perhaps.
Shall we try making them sometime?
no subject
[ What can she say? Hopper isn't exactly a very dedicated chef. He cooks a killer break fast, but waffles are store bought.
Eleven doesn't really know there is any other kind. ]
Can we? How?
no subject
I'll have to show you sometime.
[ Even though he doesn't have a waffle iron. And he um, doesn't know how to make waffles.
He might mumble "as soon as I figure out how..." underneath his breath. ]
no subject
Eleven is a girl of simple taste. Take her trick or treating, promise her waffles - she's happy.
Easy. ]
I would like that. We also need... whipped cream. Sprinkles. Better that way.
no subject
[ He beams at her and then moves on with her to the next door so they can ask for more candy that he may or may not have given them. He tried to make a variety of treats so that she wouldn't catch on... ]
no subject
She remembers what it felt like to have people treat her like a person and share food with her, or introduce new food to her. Even now, she values her trips to the ice cream parlor with Peter.
That combined with the waffles gives her an idea. ]
Maybe... we can ask Soldat to come, too. For Eggos. Waffles.
no subject
You too.
[ She's still growing, and honestly Aziraphale is not really sure how Soldier has retained all his muscle mass through this entire situation. ]
That bucket's filling up quite nicely, don't you think?
[ He asks it in a sort of almost... waiting for review kind of way. Not that she's to know that a lot of the candy is his own contribution. ]
