It starts with a network post, and then a song begins to play in the Invincible, loud enough to be heard throughout Bonfire Square. Welcome to the scavenger hunt, everyone! You've been tasked with finding 25 "items" in and around Beacon, so hop to it!

Please remember to ICly report your findings on Robin's network post if you want them to count toward a prize! As a further reminder, you're free to interpret the list items however you/your character would like, and you're free to assume your character can find all of these things somewhere in town without running into trouble! Just don't stray too far from town to go gallivanting off into the wilderness, as that might be dangerous. This includes finding forest spirits! You're welcome to NPC your own forest spirit encounters, just like in our last event.

I have to admit that my death was probably me at my least fashionable. I'd been imprisoned unfairly before then and only had a very drab pair of pants and shirt.

[Anyway.] So is all of this about Robin's scavenger hunt thing?

It is.

( he's kind of...lazily participating. )

I'm sure I could try harder and find other things but I'm partial to just seeing what I can find while I sit here.

I'll do you one better. I've been letting people take pictures of me, and that's been my entire contribution. In my defense, we don't have "selfies" where I'm from. I love to flaunt as much as the next person, but that feels gratuitous even for me.

[He's also had it explained to him in five different ways.]

And what item on the list are pictures of you fulfilling?

[Molly ticks off on his fingers.] A work of art- that's the tattoos, obviously. Someone you've never spoken to, someone beautiful... Easy enough. Mine was someone's favorite lantern. [He gestures to it dangling on his hip, looking like a fancy cricket cage with amber glass around it, burning brightly.] And then the outfit one. I've got multiple uses. Robin's gonna either love or be sick of my face before she even properly meets me.

Well, that is impressive. I've managed the someone beautiful a few times but not the others. I bow to your spirit of entrepreneurship.

( ambrose was going to have to remember this for the next scavenger hunt, if there was one. )

Do you get a split of the prize if one of your pictures helps someone win?

[Molly kisses his fingertips and gives a little bow.] Thank you, thank you. I'm multifaceted and multi-talented.

[And so humble too.] Y'know, I didn't think to ask. What'd she say the prizes were anyway? I sorta skimmed through most of what she had to say.

I...can't even remember.

( is that bad? was he supposed to have been paying attention? that's probably pretty bad. )

It must not have been anything too good if it did't stick in my mind. It was definitely not a way home which is what I would have wanted.

She doesn't seem to be the type to just hand out resurrection spells, no. [Molly purses his lips in a frown.] I'll say this much- she wasn't what I expected. Will almost made her seem almost nefarious when he talked about her.

Well, she still could be. She would be the last person you suspect, wouldn't she?

( kindly, sweet lighthouse keeper? who would think they'd be nefarious and possibly evil? )

Perfect cover, isn't it?

That's a good point. All of this scavenger hunt nonsense is probably some kind of underhanded ploy.

[He sounds like he's half-joking, but also like he would totally buy that being the case.] Not that it's gonna discourage me from lazily participating in it. It's a good way to pass the time and get to know people.

That it is. In fact, I have found that someone apparently has a little crush on me because of this scavenger hunt. I consider that a success.

( he doesn't even have to find other objects. that was enough of a reward for him. )

Now, I just have to figure out who this mystery person is.

[Molly leans forward, clearly invested in this random bit of interpersonal drama. He loves other people's drama, even if it's just friendly.]

How'd you manage that, then? That's definitely not on the list, unless they're just really shy about all the ones talking up how hot the other person is.

Someone passed me a message. They suggested me for the something beautiful item on the scavenger list and I was able to figure it out from there.

He or she is apparently shy but that's not going to stop me from trying to figure it out who it is.

Good plan. There's no room for that in the afterlife. We're here to live- in a manner of speaking. We cannot possibly let any of our hang-ups in life keep us from pursuing things after the fact.

[Molly puts a hand on his chest.] I would know. I never have hang-ups about anything, and I'm doing great.

No hang ups about anything, huh?

( if that's true then molly really is quite the person. )

Not anything? Not even something like, I don't know, spiders? Or a bad hair day?

I've fought a giant, teleporting spider. Killed it, too. [He shrugs.] There's very little in this or any world that really matters. You've got to just put the little things out of your head, and just enjoy whatever life you've got.

[So sayeth the Moonweaver.]

Giant, teleporting spider? That sounds quite creepy.

( and like something he doesn't want to deal with himself ever in his life. )

I've dealt with my share of strange things too but I don't think I'd be so confident as to say I have no hangups. I suppose that's a hangup.

[mollymocked]

[Molly reaches over and gives him a firm pat on the shoulder, leveling him with a gaze that is deeply mischievous.] Oh don't worry. We can work on that.

Oh, can we now?

( ambrose meets his mischievous gaze with a smirk. )

And how are we going to do that?

[mollymocked]

What? And ruin the surprise?

[Molly wrinkles his nose and hops back a bit to disengage like the troll he is. Wanky motherfucker.]

( what a fuckin' troll. ambrose isn't gonna say it's exactly what he'd do in the same situation but it totally is. )

What if I said I don't like surprises?

Then, friend? You're gonna absolutely hate me. [And that's all he gets before he's skipping off.]
