Engineers like to solve problems
characters: Tadashi and YOU
location: Downtown Beacon, Scrapyard, Invincible, General Store
date/time: 1st week of March
content: Tadashi needs something to work on, so what better way to be busy than to try to make a whole-ass battery?
warnings: Nothing yet, will change if necessary.
Scrapyard
A - [So there are slots in the nightclub for batteries. The spirits were generally unhelpful (or Tadashi just doesn't know enough of their language to let them be helpful), and no one else in Beacon seems to know much more about potential batteries aside from that there are more slots for them.
But there's the scrapyard, which he's never been to before but should have something he could use to cobble together a rudimentary power source or even possibly working batteries. He's not banking on the latter, but it would be nice if the universe aligned just so and gave him a shortcut.
There's a doglike spirit somewhere around, so he's got a plastic bag full of treats--riceballs with canned chicken filling and oatmeal treats--that it'll hopefully like, in addition to his torch and the hand tools he brought along.]
B - [Finding metal in a scrapyard is somehow much more difficult than Tadashi anticipated. He's unearthed a battery from a mostly rusted and barely intact car and set it aside to test and possibly disassemble later, but with just torchlight, it's very difficult to tell if he's getting the right metals he's looking for.]
Never thought I'd end up doing this...
Downtown Beacon
[Tadashi can be found anywhere there's known battery slots that an unpowered human adult can access. He doesn't have anything with him this time besides his lantern, tablet, a walking stick, and a pad of paper + pen, and is either taking photos of the battery slots or noting down their sizes and anything interesting about them.
And occasionally waving away spirits.]
General Store
[So the dog spirit likes chicken and rice! It also likes boots, as Tadashi discovered upon trying to leave the scrapyard, ending up short one nice winter boot for the trek back to town proper. Thus, he's searching the shoe section for two that fit and preferably match.]
Invincible
[This is a table big enough to seat four people, but despite only one person sitting at it, no one else can. Part of this is because there are papers spread out all over the tabletop, some notes, some concept drawings, and at least two sheets of random doodles. One place is occupied by a nonfunctional car battery and some tools occupy the corresponding chair. To one side sits a round lantern decorated with pink flowers that casts a pale glow onto Tadashi and his stuff.
Feel free to bother him or ask what he's doing. If he spots you first, he might start the conversation.]
Heya. Got any experience with this?

dieddisappeared.]Not on that, exactly. Do maintenance on the arm, though. Built a radio from spare parts.

[ where did he come from?
it is a mystery. but hey, he's there. and he's definitely looking for something himself. ]

Uh― yeah, no way. I built like a Lego space ship when I was a kid once but that's totally outta my league.
