Meeting | Things have been busy | OTA
characters: Everyone
location: Bonfire
date/time: March 4th, after Dr. Solis shows up
content: general meeting log, sharing information and plotting things
warnings: Feel free to threadjack threads. While ICly they will have an agenda, OOCly you can post topics at any time. Minimus will put up a meeting notes once this is over.
The notif goes out shortly after Dr. Solis makes contact: "Meeting postposed to tomorrow. 1500 hours, bonfire." Minimus arrives an hour early - the time he allows himself to go over his agenda twice, adjust his wording, and check the perimeter for any safety hazards. When the first people approach, he stands silently behind the fire, and the instant the time changes, he speaks. Anyone who is tardy must understand that actions have consequences.
"Good afternoon. I commend everyone in attendance for their dedication to our mission. Now, according to the note I have sent out last month, we will go over each topic of interest together and discuss future plans to address all issues. Once again, the general outline is:
Geography of Beacon, History of Beacon - including information from our discussions with Dr. Solis -, Spirits and other Local Creatures, Planning for Expeditions and Projects, and..." an unhappy pause. He only included this topic because Masaomi would not come otherwise. "Discussion of ourselves and minor incidents between ourselves." This sounds too much like gossip for Minimus' taste.
"Now," he holds up his tablet full of notes, "Let us start from the top..."

[Some bots can create electricity. Kaon comes to mind...]

Arc energy is basically a Galateion's lifeforce. It's derived from arc fuel and powers the systems of a Galateon's frame... [ day goes on to explain, albeit less eloquently, the following:
when converted from arc fuel that's been processed by the galateion's frame filtering and energy distribution systems, arc energy can keep a galateion running at top efficiency. galateions can live for a possible infinity, long as they consume enough arc fuel. but an issue galateions all face is that the older they become, the more they must consume arc fuel to keep their systems running.
daylight, on the other hand, does not need to worry about such worries. a unique feature he has it something he calls an 'eternal efficiency system', where he doesn't need to fuel himself with arc fuel. his core generates and consumes arc energy at a perpetually stabilised state, allowing him to function without the need to consume fuel or food. it gets to the point that, under special circumstances, he can produce an excess of it and use it in combat or special circumstances.
the best equivalent that daylight can think of is electricity. though arc energy is much more prone to exploding in a shower of sparks and electrical arcs if not handled carefully when it's outside a galateion's frame. hence why it's considered volatile. more so since arc energy can cause serious harm and injury to those who happen to be in range, especially those who are organic in nature. ]

And he pauses.] An eternal efficiency system? Is that safe for you?

after thinking about it some more, he does have something to say to the question: ] I've had it all my life so it's kind of my 'normal' and, um, I consider it safe as a result. I don't need to eat or drink, really, and my guardian once said my system had the potential that I didn't need to sleep, too, if it evolved over time.

...If I were not dependent on the monthly supply, I could offer Dr. Solis some Energon to power her equipment.

I'll handle the energy-giving thing so you don't have to risk yourself like that, Mr. Minimus. But to be clear: I'm the only one who has it. The system, I mean. It's a 'me' thing only and I do mean 'me' as in 'no one else.'
[ day shrugs as he trails off at the end, looking unsure now. at this point he needs to explain that bit of himself and, even now, he can never find a good way to properly explain it to others.
hmmm- maybe ripping off the bandaid will be the best approach: ] No one is exactly sure why I have it but the best theory so far is because of the fact I'm from two really different, incompatible species. My body had to find a way for me to exist when my mom is a human and dad is a Galateion so... the eternal efficiency system is the answer, they guess.
no subject
Wait.
But they are of different species?
How does a human and mechanoid reproduce? Is a Galateion even mechanoid in the first place?
He looks up at Daylight. Minimus is certain that while some organic species can be larger than Ultra Magnus, humans are incredibly small.]
Er.
[Scorponok would have been ecstatic to hear that such a thing was possible. He would have the gall to question Daylight on the methodology, but Minimus is left to simmer in his own confusion.]
I see. [He hopes that the science behind his was entirely ethical and other protoforms were not harmed in efforts to create a hybrid.] I would see where the incompatibilities lie.

it's a good thing he's not here then. that would only make day feel a lot more out of place with that out of the bag.day looks pretty uncomfortable now but he smiles, all the same. he's trying his best to remain confident and at ease with the conversation topic.
it could be worse, he tells himself. the reaction and all. it's nice that mr. ambus is only making a polite observation. ] Yeah. It's... It's a little weird, I know, but I'm here now. [ he raps his knuckles across his chassis for emphasis, humming in a supposedly careless fashion. ] Don't need to go into too much detail or anything about this, I think.
[ after spending decades, he found this the best way to politely go, 'and we can move on from the topic, right?' ]
