"Yeah," Riku says, glancing around himself and then beckoning Jason to follow him through the crowd to find somewhere to talk that's less boisterously noisy. As they walk, he continues, keeping his eyes ahead.
"I've seen books in the library about other worlds. It sounds like most of them are one great big one. Where I'm from? The kingdom is a bunch of much smaller worlds all sharing the same sky."
Riku side-steps a distressingly tall spirit that looks like its all spindly legs and resists the urge to look up to find out where it ends.
"Almost everybody lives without knowing about the existence of these other worlds, but his Majesty watches over them," finally locating an empty space that's somewhat quieter, he turns to face Jason, "As for the other stuff, like those horned guys, the keyholes? That's a long story...
"There was a man who wanted to wipe clean the slate of existence and start over with a world of his own making. To do that, he needed to summon and control the heart of all worlds, Kingdom Hearts. That man's name... was Xehanort."
Cupping his chin with his hand, he summarizes, "The armored guys with the horns... they're associated with Xehanort, and the number of them tells me they were fragments of him," he knows how strange this will sound, "To achieve his goal, he needed thirteen vessels of Darkness. So he split up pieces of himself to ensure he had the thirteen he needed."
