warnings: jason's mouth, vanitas' bad attitude
Vanitas isn't leading, but he is at the head of the group as they move away from the cradle point of Beacon. The bonfire, even now, marks the middle of the town, even if it might not be the literal meeting point of the whole area. It's still the brightest place, and creatures are drawn to that— even something like Vanitas, meant to exist only in the shadows.
But for better or worse, his curiousity gets the better of him. He didn't intend for this to become what it was. The word trickled out until all five of them ended up on this road, one torch to share between them down the dark pathways that head into the newly discovered downtown area. It's the best place for a theatre to watch the moving pictures, and whether the others really care about it or not doesn't actually matter to him. He would have been prepared to make this trek on his own.
He isn't studying too deeply the reason he invited anyone, regardless of who brought who along on their little field trip.
Vanitas' black lantern bobs ahead of everyone, carried by one of his Unversed, and Vanitas only starts to slow down when he hears the movement in the distance, the low din of something unfamiliar. His spine straightens, his whole body seems to come attentive all at once, like a dog on high alert.
"Do you hear that?" The sound of music.

It means something in and of itself.
Bruce's gaze travels as they go, a careful sweep of the treelines and an awareness of the rear, anything that might close in behind them- but the path remains clear and in time, their destination begins to loom ahead. It's a promising sign until Vanitas goes still, his entire body being one straight line. He says do you hear that and Bruce doesn't, not yet, but his first memory had been Kuai's message on the network- about a parade. Music that compelled them to follow. "Cover your ears!"
