Capture The Flag Part 2: The Free for All

characters: Jason Grace & SUPER OPEN
location: The Invincible to Start, Moves to Various Locations
date/time: November 12 "midday"
content: Jason Grace begins the second game of Capture the Flag. This time with a few changes to game play.
warnings: TBD

Jason stood in the corner of The Invincible with a small pile of fabric around him. He had made sure to promote the game in the bulletin this time, though given the recent events around town he wasn’t sure how many people he would actually get interested. That was why he had decided to change the structure of the game a little bit.

He’d wait for enough people to gather and then explain:

“Hey everyone. If you’re here I am guessing you’re interested in participating in capture the flag. After the game last time, I’m making a few changes to the game both to keep things interesting but also to see if this works better for what we have to work with here.”

Jason waits for that to sink in and to see if anyone else is interested after making this statement in the Invincible. He continues, “Instead of two teams and two flags, there are now multiple flags to collect, each worth different points. Each person participating will start with one flag and will need to find a partner. That’s your team this time, though if you want to form additional alliances feel free. I have also hidden several more flags in the explored places around Beacon. Some are easy to get, but worth fewer points, while others are harder and worth more points because I tried to hide those better.” He also had handed a few flags to some spirits, partly because he had been inspired by their little play (even if he was still annoyed about his stolen shirts). He thought that could make things interesting and maybe even get them involved, but he’d wait to see if anyone actually thought to check with the spirits. His favorite was perhaps giving a flag to the ice cream vendor.

“You and your partner need to collect the most flags from around town and also prevent other teams from taking flags from you,” he smirks as he says this, a glint in his eye, “I won’t be playing in the flag finding part, since I hid them, but I will be participating by sometimes stealing flags from those playing. I’ve also marked a few flags with a special lightning bolt symbol. If you find that flag and find me, then I have to help your team collect flags for 15 minutes.”

He thinks for a minute if that was all the stuff he needed to go over and then adds, “We’ll meet back here in two hours to see who the winner is. The Invincible is a ‘safe space’ so there are no flags inside this building and you can’t steal another team’s flags while they are here. However, you also can’t hang out here for longer than 5 minutes unless you are seriously injured.”

Jason picks up the flags to start handing out, “Any questions? These rules are new to me too so if you think I forgot to consider something now’s the time to bring it up. The game will start in 10 minutes so you can find your partner and strategize. I won’t start playing until five minutes after that.”

OOC Notes:
Player Start Flags = 5 points

Jason has hidden a total of 25 flags.
= 10 flags are considered easy mode and worth 10 points each.
= 5 flags are considered medium mode and worth 15 points each. (This includes 1 spirit flag with the ice cream vendor.)
= 3 flags are considered hard mode and worth 25 points each. This includes (1 spirit flag with a random spirit who wanders a lot).
= 2 flags are considered extreme mode and worth 50 points each.

* 5 lightning bolt flags are hidden ranging from medium to hard mode. Most he planted in places he frequents, including one on the roof of the Invincible because he made sure to carefully word that ‘inside’ the building no flags are hidden ;D

I'll wait to see who all decides to play before rolling for a winner of the game. I'll probably hold off on determining a winner until December 1.
