dock rebuild | ota / mingle
characters: Aziraphale, Crowley, Daylight, Eleven, Stone, Eliot and YOU
location: The docks
date/time: Early Nov through Nov 11th
content: A mingle log for rebuilding the docks and/or generally if you'd like to have your character help with a mini-project. Feel free to throw up your own TLs! I am also still on slowatus until the 6th but wanted to put this up with ample time before Sandman!
warnings: N/A. If you would like to handwave your involvement, please just lmk and I'll add you to a list or something so everyone can just assume your character was around
The wood, cut and planked, sits in a pile on the beach, covered in whatever tarp-like object can be found to keep it from getting wet. On the bright side, the ferry comes in when they finish gathering supplies for the dock - so they don't have to gather more, and they don't have to rebuild a ferry. Still, large trunks are prepared for weather and hammered into the water, and don't get much of a chance to stand alone before a small group of people descend on them to cobble together a little dock. Not as grand nor as finely-made as the previous one, it will be nonetheless sturdy and usable, with hopefully no further changes for the last two years it may need to exist.

Would you like to try some? I wonder if I put enough spice in it to not taste bland. [Ignis offers him the bowl with food and the fork. They are definitively not bland, he knows it, but- he's good at making things less awkward.]
A greenhouse? You managed to grow plants here?
no subject
[ And he really means it, he doesn't want to inconvenience anyone. ]
And yes, mostly leafy things and herbs so far, things that grow quickly. Crowley's trying to build a greenhouse so we can have all sorts of fruits and vegetables year-round. Won't it be nice to have tomatoes in the winter?

That is remarkable. I haven't seen anything good grow here. Especially without insects around here. There were some cicadas in the summer, and it was actually a comforting sound compared to the still darkness. But nothing else.
It would've been remarkable if we did. I mostly rely on the general store for most of the ingredients, since I cannot grow anything of my own.

[ Not to mention the company. ]
I'm thinking of going there myself, once this is all squared away.

[He still thinks the fiasco with ferry was stupid, but he doesn't sound angry.]
We could head there together when we're done.
no subject
I'd like that very much, Ignis. Thank you.
[ He offers a smile and then returns to his sandwich for a bit. ]
I do wonder how it is... returned to us, wholly.
no subject
Hmmm... [Ignis ponders for a moment.]
I have exchanged a few messages with the Keeper, and she said she made some kind of 'deal' to get the Ferry back. I don't know what she was talking about and about whom but it sounded a bit... shady.
[And they are not really in a position to question this because it's for their benefit. Or is it...?]
no subject
I suppose it might behoove us to figure out who has the power to do such a thing. And why we weren't consulted for making a deal.
[ That does all sound very suspicious, especially since it wasn't Robin's fault that the ferry was sunk, and she hadn't told him or Bucky or Crowley about any of it.
Well, that or the two of them were keeping secrets. ]
no subject
[He's quiet for a moment- Ignis usually doesn't express his thoughts about Robin, especially after their fight on network months ago, but this doesn't sit well with him.]
I have a feeling she is hiding a lot from us than what she says.
[And that's only going to come back and bite her when she ends up needing help and they find out she's been lying to them all along.]
no subject
[ He relays none of this to Crowley, who already expressed plans to fly up there and give her a piece of his mind.
Aziraphale managed to talk him out of it because he thinks it's a suicide mission. ]
Rather suspect, I think, requiring so much of us but withholding all relevant information.
Suppose it'd be hard for me to get her to entrust me with any new knowledge.
no subject
They don't need to give her more reason to pull the switch on them. She may act friendly with them but she doesn't trust them and they are just another handful of people that arrived.]
She had been withholding knowledge from everyone, as far as I know. I think she doesn't trust us as at all.
no subject
But on the other hand, we are the current shot she's got, and I don't think it will help much to keep us in the dark.
[ He heaves a long-suffering sigh. ]
If it's information she can't trust us with, I don't see how we are all going to make it out of this alive in two years' time.
no subject
[Ignis wishes he could offer the man more support. He seems like a guy that truly means well.]
I am not sure either. I do hope that upcoming winter will make forest spirits calmer... hopefully, they will settle in for winter rest.
no subject
[ He honestly has no idea if spirits do or do not do this, he's not trying to play dumb. ]
That's fascinating.
I wonder what else they do...
no subject
I wish they would so that we have a peaceful winter.
[But that's a pipe dream. He stopped expecting good things from this place.]
