[Closed] Don't drink and fly!
characters: Xayah and Crowley
location: The Docks, at the start then wherever there's place to practice flying!
date/time: After hallucinations event, but before end of month, 25th?
content: Crowley is teaching Xayah to fly
warnings: Foul language, drinking, talking smack? General warnings for Beacon
She was nervous.
And who wouldn't be? More than ten years Xayah didn't shapeshift her cloak back into her wings, giving her best to blend into the surroundings and with humans she encountered. It never occurred to her that she should just try and fly- until Crowley suggested that.
She doesn't remember flying at all. What she remembers was being mocked for tall ears, tattoos on her face, her feet and her wings. Wings that she shapeshifted into a feathery cloak.
And now, she shifted it back to what they are. A pair of pretty purple wings, that have a soft blend to maroon red on the edges, the same color of her hair. They are as big as her body and she feels a bit odd wearing them after such a long time. But she's determined to learn. Flying will just give her a huge advantage in everything.
After not being able to find Crowley at the Invincible, she heads to the docks. It was one other place he told her she can find him once she's ready. And she's ready. Uh... she hopes?
She sneaks up to the docks and waits for people to clear out a bit before stepping up to where she spotted Crowley working on some planks and crates and whatnot.
"I see you can walk," her lips twitch as she jumps on one of the crates behind Crowley, her wings making a soft swishing sound. Man, she needs to get used to this now, huh? She tries to have a serious expression, but there's a twinkle in her eye and twitch in her lips that's telling so much how excited she actually is about all of this.

"Best part...hmmm... the adrenaline rush." She may or may not be now an adrenaline junkie. Thanks Crowley.
And that's another shot down.

He lifts up his drink and takes it. He doesn't cough this time, but it definitely burns like all hell.
"Wait until you start doing drops and dives," he says. "That's the rush, there. Knowing you can pull yourself up at the last minute's what keeps you going."

The moonshine definitively isn't for slow sipping; previous drink they had wasn't all that bad, but this goes down only in a shot. Crossed fingers that she doesn't throw up later.
"I promise I'll practice diligently. After all, I don't want to disappoint my teacher."

He considers pouring them another shot, then reaches out to get her a glass of water first. She can't sober up with a thought the way he can.

Hey, she doesn't want to sober up, okay? But if she doesn't get another shot, that's fine, she can stay tipsy. Honestly, her stomach will be very grateful for it.
"You know what? ...you're pretty cool guy. A dumbass and airhead to an extent, but interesting guy. I kinda like you." And that doesn't happen often.

He, of course, quite likes Xayah, too. Not that he's ever, ever going to admit that to anyone. He has only barely admitted he likes Aziraphale after six thousand years of being his friend, and that's only because the world was about to end. He'd have been totally comfortable just knowing how much he cared about him without ever saying those words aloud.
He pours himself another shot and holds it up, clinking it against her water glass.
"Cheers," he says.

"Well, if we're going to all meet our doom here, might as well be interesting."
He clinks their glasses-
"Cheers~"
-and her hand shoots out, taking it from his hand and downing it before he can react. She smacks the shot glass on the bar and after clearing her throat, she smirks. "1 for Xayah, 0 for Crowley."

"You're going to make yourself sick with this stuff," he says. "I was trying to---"
He gestures at the water.
no subject
"Oh. OH right, I'll take that too, thanks."
And she also drinks the water he got her.
Then smacks him hard on the shoulder, "Aw, thanks for worrying about me!"
