EVENT LOG: BURY A FRIEND

EVENT LOG:
BURY A FRIEND
characters: everyone.
location: around town.
date/time: october 9-17.
content: the hallucinations begin...
warnings: psychological horror. please cw tags appropriately.
it's probably something that shouldn't be said out loud
October 9 feels like a normal day at first, save for the red lighthouse beam cutting through the darkness overhead. You know by now—or you've heard—that the lighthouse is only active during ferry arrivals and events... And there's definitely no ferry docked at the, er. Beach. The town is quiet, the forest spirits behave business-as-usual, Rastus doesn't know what's up. Whatever's going on, you'll have to figure it out for yourself.
And you will, though the hallucinations are subtle at first: objects moving when they shouldn't, people's proportions looking just a bit off, voices in an empty room, and so on. Is it just your mind playing tricks in the darkness? Might be! Will did warn you all about the effects of living without a sun and a proper day/night cycle.
As the days go on, the hallucinations are harder to ignore, no matter how much you may wish to wave them off as flukes. What's wrong with everyone's faces? When did all the howling start? Who do you hold onto when the world drops out from under you? And those hands...
While you might know it can't be real, it certainly feels real. But at least it can't last forever!
...Right?

[No explanation offered, though - thanks, Ignis, for creating one. Sure, the darkness, that's what's to blame. He thwacks over his lantern with his arm as he tries to sit up, grimacing slightly as it comes to a hard stop against the leg of the table, then retrieves it and sets it on top of the table where he can't accidentally knock it over quite so easily.
In fact, maybe he'll just do as he usually does at the bar or many other places here and stay sitting on the floor. He fits a little better that way.]
Speaking of moving between worlds and that ferry, I had a strange conversation with a Doctor Lutece a few weeks back. Have you ever heard of "quantum physics"?

[Ignis rubs his chin in thought, raking through his brain to see whether he came across the word or no. He's learned about physics, yes. But the word 'quantum' sounds strange and foreign to him. Something that Niflheim could probably dabble in. He's never run into something like that back in the Crown City.]
Unfortunately, no. The word is unfamiliar to me. Do you know what is it about?
[Or is he maybe asking Ignis to explain it. Which is, sadly, impossible. Hmm, he should look into this later as well. It's not like he has anything better to do right now.]
no subject
[Which almost sounds like a question, the way he says it. More than one universe? How can that be? It's a little bit beyond him, as he's still stunned by the fact that there are humans on different planets in the sky.]

She might be on the right track, [he says with a nod.]
It didn't occur to me but looking at it now, it is very obvious that there are multiple universes. After all, I bet you have never heard of my world, Eos. And yet, it exists.
There are probably plenty of other worlds that coexist and that we are not aware of. Question is- what is bringing all the people that died here, to Beacon...
no subject
[And any one of those stars might be a world with people, right? Something like that. Or maybe the worlds are dark, because planets don't glow, but they have moons and suns and other things around them.
He's trying to understand, he really is, but the science of the night sky is something he has a poor grasp of, having never needed to learn anything beyond its use in navigation.]
