THIS TOO IS LATE and i am also sorry

[ o-kay, that hadn't been what peter had been expecting, but he'll take it. the spirit being held off from reaching the — kid? teenager? young person of presently indiscernible age? is wonderfully helpful, and whilst his webbing will last an hour, he's not going to assume it's going to hold the spirit for an hour.

(and there are more, behind him, around the party—. leaving is about the best thing they can do.)

he drops to the ground a foot or so away from coraline, attention shifting from her to the spirit (is it speciesist of him to think that this whole thing is a little gross? because it kind of is—) and then back to coraline. the only evidence that his expression shifts beneath the mask is the slight movements of the material; and he points behind coraline. ]

—We're exiting stage right. [ beat; he tilts his head a little. ] Left? I'm not actually sure which direction's the right one, or does it change? [ he comments, a little breathlessly. it's not entirely evident whether it's a real, genuine question, albeit somewhat mistimed, or whether he's just talking for the sake of talking.

(the real answer here is: it's a mix of column a and column b, with a side of mystery c.)

regardless, he doesn't give coraline any time to actually answer before extending his hand towards her. beyond her — whatever that had been, he doesn't know if she's got any other abilities, but it's irrelevant. they need to go. ]
On three?
