He knows Riku is back only because of the post on the network, but even so, it takes Vanitas a little longer to make his way back into the town proper. His armor has clearly taken a beating, shattered in his midsection, the fabric torn to expose tender, freshly healed skin that winks out with every step Vanitas takes. It'll scar, but it's far from the first— or the last— he'll get, he's sure. His helmet is gone, and it shows the nasty bruise along his temple, the split in his lip where he'd either bit it or been hit. It's difficult to tell at a glance.
But none of this slows him down as he goes hunting through the Invincible.

It almost seems like he might grab the other boy when he gets close enough— but instead, he stops at arm's length and stares hard at him, eyes wide. There's something a little manic in his expression.
