"It's closer to the fields," Soldat says. "If we're going to be here more than one growing season. Ought to have a house out here, too, maybe." They can work on the house once the field is tilled and sown. It's going to be a long-term project, because this house is in much worse shape than the ones in Beacon proper.

But it's something to do. And it's practical. Keeping busy is going to be the name of the game for a while. "Field first, though," they sigh, turning back to it. "Maybe we can convince Stone to come back and help for a week or two."
