The tiny spirits gather around the apple core, hmmming at the bite marks, counting how many seeds are easily visible and inspecting their shine. One takes one of the seeds, rubs it in the snow to wet it, then slaps it onto the ankle of Soldat's boot, and they all sit around and wait to see how long it takes to fall off.

One second. They tut softly and shake their heads. One offers a sympathetic pat on Soldat's foot.

They hop back up onto the bench, and one steps forward to make a pronouncement in the clearest version of their speech they can muster.

"Fame and glory, but at a cost! Know your fellows well before they are lost."

For the next week (coinciding with when the tree is taken underwater), Soldat will see faint, blurry outlines of color around the people in town. Feel free to discuss with other players what their character's aura color might be, or make it up yourself based on what Soldat thinks of them, or however you want to determine the colors and their meanings!
