Ashford remains wary of Rosinante. With no reference point he can't be sure if his first encounter or the later ones are the reality. And he doesn't make a habit of letting his guard down easily, particularly with someone who could so easily be a formidable foe if they chose to be.

But he also doesn't see the point of making unnecessary conflict if there is a middle ground somewhere near distrusting neutral.
