Oh no, that note is so cute. Soldat's gonna be keeping that in their chest of random crap precious things. They get it while on patrol, and not on the patrol that includes the amusement park itself-- this explains why the spirits kept shooing him away from said park, the past few days, actually-- so they head into town first to see who all else got the notes.
"Did you see this?" they ask, with a little smile on their face. "I think it's meant seriously. Not, you know. As a trap or anything. I saw them working on it."
II. Amusement
While they don't actually try any of the rides-- half-sure their greater weight would throw something off, and also, trying a roller coaster in the shadow of the roller coaster feels wrong somehow-- Soldat does play every carnival game, try every food vendor, and even peers into the spooky fun house skeptically before the spirits wave them off. The tunnel of love gets a wide berth, though, and not just because they know it's full of territorial alligator spirits.
They even prowl around outside the lights, half to make sure there's nothing dangerous there waiting to leap out at the unwary, and listen politely to the fortune teller to accept a fortune, just out of curiosity. They don't seem to mean harm... and anyway, somebody ought to test it and warn the others if the fortune teller does mean harm, right?
III. Pie!
This, though, is the best part. Soldat has never made pie before, and they doubt they'll win for a first attempt, but it's exciting to try. It's a first. They've never participated in a contest before, they they can remember, let alone a cooking contest.
Their pie is apple and cinnamon, and it's not half-bad, though probably not nearly as good as some of the other entrants.
