Well, this is kind of fun. Stone always did like groundling harvest fairs and things, and after the Night Market he's pretty familiar with carnival games. So he wanders around, trying the occasional game-- mostly doing badly, thanks Raksuran vision and one blind eye, but he doesn't care really-- trying the occasional ride-- not nearly as fun as flying, but cute how they try-- and following the spirits' suggestion to stay out of the funhouse.
After all, he's already got one dead doppleganger that shows up in mirrors. He doesn't need a second one.
II. Pie-Eating, Among Other Things
The best part of all this, though, is the food. Not as many inedible items available this time, apparently the spirits have learned a little about what not-quite-spirit people eat. Good job, spirits. Everywhere you see him, he has some kind of food in his hands.
As for the big event, well, Stone isn't a cook. But he does love to eat. Once the pies are done and judged, he's sitting there happily waiting to eat the fruits of the bakers' labor. He'll try any of them once, and unless it's actually dangerous, he'll probably just eat the whole thing. He's eaten a whole fish in one gulp before, he's eaten bug paste; he'll be fine.
He might even win, who knows.
III. Swimming Lessons
Stone still swims every day. In the heat, it's a nice way to cool off, though he's continually annoyed at having no sun to bask in afterwards. He finally manages to drag Ashford down to the harbor, too, prodding him towards the water.
"You're going to learn, so I don't have to hover around you next time it rains," he says firmly, with another poke and the threat, "I'll pick you up and drop you in, if you don't get in on your own."
