[Well, finally. Soldat has been keeping something of an eye on Javert, and whenever they can't find him on one of his patrol routes or in any of his usual haunts, they ask around of the spirits. Most of them know both Javert and Soldat by now, if just by description, and one of them points Soldat to the library with a clear shushing motion, as if making some kind of point. Soldat thanks them, then heads in...
... and promptly realizes what the shushing motion was for. Aww. They slip out again and return promptly with a blanket and a pillow, the former tucked gingerly around his shoulders, and the latter slid even more carefully under his head to protect him from some of that threatening neck stiffness.
Then they slip out to let him nap a little while longer, and return after the midday meal with his usual leftovers and a cup of tea. This time, they aren't at all quiet, walking heavily and greeting the Librarian warmly and clearly in spirit-language-- promising not to get any tea on their books, of course.]
