callada: (beware the silent observer)

While Law works, Rosinante waits with as much patience as he can manage. Between the sight and smell of injury, his desperate need to get Law to safety, and yet his utter admiration for how hard the man works to help others even while at risk of dying, his head is sort of a mess. He tries once again to see if one of his cigarettes is dry enough to smoke, and never really manages to get the driest one to light more than a weak smolder, but he sticks it in his mouth anyway, in need of the distraction.

When Law finishes and returns, Rosinante looks down at him and loosely drapes an arm around his shoulders, like he wants to both hug him and help him up and can't quite manage to do either. This entire trip has just been exhausting.

"Let's get out of here. I want you to get up top so you can rest. You've done more than enough."
