At first, it isn't obvious. During the fight, Rosinante begins to feel a strange urge to consume the flesh and blood being cleaved from the World Eater. The blood smells peppered; coppery and sharp. The flesh in its jagged hunks seems as if it would tear nicely in his teeth. This hunger starts small, easily chased away in the thrill of battle, but even after the fight is over, the hunger remains.

And it isn't just the monster in the portal Rosinante finds himself wanting to consume. Back on the surface, living spirits seem to have the same appeal. Even other residents of Beacon will trigger the same unsatiable hunger. Normal food will be completely unappealing, dry and tasteless. Only flesh and blood seems to have any appeal. The effects will slowly escalate, before fading out in a month's time.
