It's the fine line between rolling over and giving up right here and now, and doing it at the true, utter end. That's what makes him better (in his own mind) than the Hunt.
But he's too drunk to get into all of that right now, all he's got for Rosinante is a sympathetic gaze that wobbles a bit.
