Yeah, sure, you can do that. Don't think he doesn't see the way that sentence can be construed to mean nothing that I consider needless, which leaves Mary with the choice of what is and isn't needless.

Law can already feel the beginnings of a headache, right over his temples.

He's not sure what to do with much of the information, either — he knows of the lighthouse, and the flood, and supposes that it makes sense... but nothing about things falling from the sky makes sense.

"... how long was it, between this and the last time you got supplies?" There's an undercurrent to his words, which could very well be translated to when is the last time you've actually eaten properly.

And then, as if as an afterthought, "Why would people yell at someone who brought them food?"
