Ephrim is quiet for a moment yet. Rosinante has either great investment in himself or others if he's been here as long as he has and continues his work. It's a harmless enough drive, enough so that Ephrim has no real interest in having it out of him, but it does make him wonder if, forbid the thought, he himself will grow enough interest in the affairs of other worlds to feel the same sense of urgency again.

"You still do think of your world. Either that or your zeal has followed you here from your world, which is a product of who you were there." He shrugs. "There is, as you say, not much more thought to be put into it than that, unless you're the type to drive others to action."

Back to the stars, though. Rosinante is right, of course, that what he said does not do a single thing to answer Ephrim's questions. Hieron might be an anomaly, not the norm. "When I first arrived here, a fellow passenger told me of planets. I'd never heard the word before I arrived here. Had you?"
