The response makes a lot of sense, and Haein gets it. He relies on public transportation most of the time partly to avoid the headache that comes with driving. Would he have liked the kind of privacy and convenience that a car would've afforded him? Yes, but he's dead now so cars are off the table.

"It's not the greatest. Accidents happen all the time, too." He's reminded of his relief at there not being any cars in Rosinante's world, but he's at least somewhat mindful not to mention it again.
