"Probably just Soldier. Soldat," they translate, using the Russian the kids would have used, the name they've adopted now. It's still better than the English for it. "It's what the Russians called me. I doubt they used 'sir', nobody ever did." They were a thing, after all-- a tool. Maybe not to the girls, but to the guards, ever-present and ready to shoot them all if anyone stepped out of line. And that lesson stuck very well. "But I don't remember for sure, so that's just a guess."
