It's a question worth asking. Some folks seem to think that it's a good thing if someone stays gone. It means they aren't here, aren't trapped in this place of violence and perpetual dark. But then, once someone's left Beacon, it's impossible to say where they are. Are they in whatever afterlife they believed in? Will doesn't think so.
And he's not sure whether oblivion is better than this.
