Matt has never suffered the worst of it, like Elektra and some others; that doesn't mean he's comfortable with the prospect. No matter how tempting it is to really understand what something — someone — that mattered to him intensely looked like.
So he hesitates. It does say something about his present company, that she'd ask over simply doing as she pleases with his memories, his mind. He thinks distantly of the news coverage on Kilgrave and his ability to control people. He certainly hadn't stopped to ask if his interference was welcome. That kind of forethought means something, what kind of person she is.
Still, he doesn't know enough about her to accept. at least, not yet. He'll have to work his trust up to that point.
"I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that," he says, slowly, after a long stretch of thought. He doesn't sound scared, but his answer is still firm. "I don't think I know you well enough yet."
