This may be a very awkward pause, but if Mewtwo doesn't recognize the face of someone whose mind just adjusted to fit more memories, it could probably be just chalked up to shock. Either way, Sora will shake himself out of it after a few seconds, then look at this cat down and up. The soldier was not kidding about the giant part.
"Hi," he says, almost shy. He didn't actually expect for this to happen. "The soldier always tells me that, uh, I need to practice that. Paying attention."
