It's part of the Soldier's tendency to think of handlers as mildly omniscient. It disobeyed orders, and of course a handler-- even one like Misty-- should automatically know that. It keep its expression carefully blank, posture unthreatening and just on the edge of subservient, but not quite far enough into it enough to invite a strike.
Not that Misty would ever do that. It knows she won't. She's the best handler. It's doing this anyway. For some fucking reason. (Ugh. I know. I know.)
