( He could simply ignore him. It would be ever so easy, to turn his attention to the windows, boarding them and hammering a nail every time Crowley attempts to speak to him. But that would be petty, and Javert is riled up enough about it to not keep quiet. He grinds his teeth, trying to keep his voice low. )

Why would they? Despite what you may think, I am neither decisive nor judgmental. Not as I should be.

( He may have acknowledged the existence of his conscience, but that doesn't mean he's comfortable following it. When being merciful means defying the law, it's going to be a struggle. )
