Rosinante looks abruptly over at him, wide-eyed. Eighty-five million? Seven billion? Numbers he can barely even imagine alive, never mind dead. Even counting the fishmen and the merfolk, who have far more space available to them than land-dwellers like humans and giants, he's pretty sure his world doesn't hold those kinds of numbers.

"Why?" he asks, shocked. "Why Earth? When there must be so many other worlds that don't have people at all?"
