Tumbling and gymnastics for dodging, falling, and turning blows away. In case you don't want to get your face bashed in again." Pretty sure all that happened during the hallucinations, given the coloring of the bruising and the state of the stitches, probably at the tail end. And Bruce already turned down the biggest temptation it could give, so probably isn't going to go around abusing people with what the Soldier can teach him. (And if it start to look like that might be the case, it will stop.)
But Bruce might not agree, and that's all right, too.
