"I guess...well military would mean putting yourself in more danger than probably the average person. If this is some after life or if we just all happen to have died before arriving here it would make sense than most of us are--were--probably involved in something dangerous."

He'd mostly left people alone in terms of asking how they died, so mostly he was pulling from his own personal experience with death. The oldest looking person he could think of was probably Aziraphale and he wasn't even sure how old he was. So it stood to reason that most of the people here had died of unnatural causes and with how many people he'd met who seemed to have fighting skills he was willing to bet that a majority of those causes were NOT some form of sickness. Though of course he could be wrong.

"You were in the Marines though? I can't say I know a lot about them...other than obviously involvement with water. I guess that's why you're helping with the boats then."
